John -

Just a similar experience yesterday while eating at a Mexican restaurant. I was with two other guys and we all ordered the burritos that were the lunch special. Well, the waitress brings out this burrito that is the size of the plate! It's a good 3 inches wide by 8 inches long...a real monster, plus rice and beans.

I made up my mind that I was only going to eat half of the burrito once I saw how big it was. The other two guys were chowing down and were making comments like, "Wow, this thing is huge. It's too bad I'm a member of the clean plate club...gotta finish it." Meanwhile, I reached the halfway point of mine and, feeling satisfied, stopped eating. They kept eating for a couple of minutes until they noticed that I wasn't going to finish my burrito...then they both were like, "We'll save ours for later, too." I thought of this post you made, and knew I had to share what happened!

This VERY kind of thing is what motivates me on a daily basis. I'm always looking at what the people who I wanna look like are eating and how they're working out. The best thing to emulate is success. Great post John.

<a href="#comment-1008" rel="nofollow">@Michiel </a>
both styles of workout you mentioned will work. Strength is synonymous with muscle size (relatively speaking of course)

So training for muscle size/maintenance is the same as training for 'strength'

Hey John
This points out exactly how much our food choices are influenced by each other.
I do notice how many times this used to happen without even knowing it.

I do have another question about working out with eat stop eat. What type of resistance training is enough to stimulate the muscles enough to keep it? Do you need typical bodybuilding scheme like between 8-12 reps 12-16... or is just training for strength good enough (for example 8 sets of 3-5 reps a bodypart each week). Generally put i would like to know what is enough to at least maintain your muscle?
