#3 – Cardio type training is better than weight training for helping with long term fat loss
Answer: FALSE
Exercise in general doesn’t really do much of helping weight loss. Recent research shows that adding cardio type exercise to a weight loss diet doesn’t increase the weight loss results.
Cardio or weight training doesn’t really affect weight loss. It’s essentially always comes back to diet, and calories in vs calories out.

John, I’m sorry but you seem to contradict yourself here. You say exercise doesn’t really do much of helping weight loss, but then state that it comes back to calories in vs calories out. Exercise increases energy expenditure, for example running 6 miles in an hour burns about 600 calories, that’s over 1/6th of a lb burned in an hour. If you add that to your diet, that’s over an extra pound a week! How can you say it doesn’t affect weight loss?

Mike,
See video #1 for quick explanation why exercise doesn’t really help the calories in vs calories our argument.

[...] Cardio vs Weights For Long Term Fat Loss [...]

I think it is better to simply find ‘any’ factors which effectively contribute to weight or rather fat loss and utilize then to the max! I think its a mistake for people to try and isolate the single most effective element and concentrate on that, whether it be diet, exercise or some magic bullet which may take the form of a supplement.
Effective fat loss should take the form of a holistic long term strategy and for anyone serious in changing their body composition, that is adding lean muscle mass and reducing body fat should view the road to effective fat loss as a gradual yet complete health lifestyle change.
